Postdoctoral Fellow - Position as Postdoc in molecular immunology and personalized immunotherapy treatment prediction

Offentlig forvaltning

A full-time position as postdoctoral fellow is available at the Department of Molecular Cell Biology (MCB) at Oslo University Hospital Radiumhospitalet on a project led by Audun Kvalvaag in Harald Stenmark's research group.
The project is about studying tumor infiltrating lymphocytes isolated from patients with metastatic melanoma, triple negative breast cancer and non-small cell lung cancer ex vivo, and to establish new biomarkers for prediction of patient response to immunotherapy.
The position is 100% and has a duration of two years from March 1st, 2025 with possibility for extension. The project is part of SPARK Norway and the research group is affiliated with the RCN Centre of Excellence CanCell – Centre for Cancer Cell Reprogramming (https://www.med.uio.no/cancell/english/).

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a relevant PhD degree and a strong research background in molecular biology and/or immunology. The successful candidate will use primary T cells isolated from patient biopsies to study the molecular interactions of various costimulatory and inhibitory molecules in the immunological synapse, how these interactions are modulated by treatment with checkpoint inhibitors and ultimately how this affects T cell activation.

The candidate will use techniques such as cell culture, supported lipid bilayers, fluorescence microscopy, custom image analysis and flow cytometry. Applicants should have a strong background in molecular biology and/or immunology, and experience with most of the relevant techniques. The candidate must also have a good ability to collaborate, and excellent written and oral communication skills (English).
