Researcher/Postdoc position in cancer/early embryo development

Offentlig forvaltning

Oslo University Hospital, the largest hospital in Norway with over 20,000 employees, is a leading contributor to biomedical research.

We are excited to announce an available 100 % position for two years as researcher/postdoc in Epitranscriptomics with project leader Yanjiao Li within Arne Klungland Lab. The position is available to start as early as may 2025, with flexible start dates.

The lab is also affiliated with the Centre for Embryology and Healthy Development (CRESCO), University of Oslo. CRESCO is a Norwegian Centre of Excellence consisting of an interdisciplinary team of researchers specializing in epigenetic and epitranscriptomic modifications, DNA repair and genome (in)stability, and single-cell/nucleotide analysis, with a focus on cancer and embryology research.

We are looking for a highly motivated and independent person, preferably with a background in cancer or embryo biology, to explore RNA modification mechanisms in cancer cells and early embryonic development. The successful candidate will contribute to one or more well-funded research projects aiming to unveil novel insights into RNA modifications. By leveraging our state-of-the-art epigenetic/epitranscriptomic methodologies (Nature, 2016; Nature Genetics, 2020; Nature Structural & Molecular Biology, 2023; Nature Biotechnology, 2023), we are working on understanding epigenetic/epitranscriptomic regulation in minute samples, including early embryos and cancer biopsies.

Oslo University Hospital is a workplace with great diversity. We believe this is crucial for solving our tasks in the best possible way. We want this diversity to be reflected among the applicants for our positions, and we encourage all qualified candidates, regardless of background, to apply!
