A Unit Leader position is available at the Unit for Flow Cytometry and Preclinical Imaging, Institute for Cancer Research, Oslo University Hospital.
 
The Department of Core Facilities runs seven regional and national technology platforms financed by the Southern-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority and/or the Research Council of Norway, providing easy access to advanced competence, infrastructure, and services. The Department aims to provide state-of-the-art services and competence in advanced technologies, and thus contribute to the international competitiveness of research groups. The Department is organized into three units; Advanced Microscopy, Genomics and Bioinformatics and Flow Cytometry and Pre-Clinical Imaging, with a total of 20 employees.
 
The Unit Leader will have administrative and personnel responsible for the Flow Cytometry and Pre-clinical Magnetic Resonance Core Facilities, currently financed by the Southern-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority. The core facilities deliver advanced services within flow and mass cytometry, as well as pre-clinical imaging using magnetic resonance imaging and in vivo imaging systems. Some changes are expected in the tasks and organisation as OUH will also establish a new preclinical proton therapy core facility. As core facilities, they provide cutting-edge competence and services to research groups within the Institute for Cancer Research and Oslo University Hospital, as well as external academic and commercial groups. The unit leader reports to the Head of the Department of Core Facilities.
 
Institute for Cancer Research:
The Institute for Cancer Research (ICR) organized as a part of the Division of Cancer Medicine at Oslo University Hospital, conducts cutting-edge cancer research ranging from basic cancer biology to translational and clinical research. It is the leading cancer research institute in Norway and has a strong international standing. ICR is organized into 7 departments, 6 dedicated to research plus a Department of Core Facilities. Altogether ICR has 25 research groups, approx. 390 employees.

Kvalifikasjoner:

• PhD degree in molecular biology, cell biology or related fields
• Solid theoretical and practical competence in flow/mass cytometry and/or pre-clinical imaging
• Candidates with experience in running core facility service functions will have an advantage
• Documented experience in cancer research will be an advantage
• The candidate must be a team player with good organisation and leadership skills
• Good relevant national and international network
