Senior Consultant combined with Associate Professor/Adjunct Professor in medicine (Laryngology)

A permanent position as Senior Consultant is available at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery, Oslo University Hospital. The consultant position is affiliated with the laryngology section (100% position). The position is affiliated with a part time position as Associate Professor SKO 1011/Adjunct Professor SKO 1013 (20 % position) in Medicine (Otorhinolaryngology & Head and Neck Surgery) at the Institute of Clinical Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Oslo (UiO). It is required that the position holder attends to both positions.

The Department of Otolaryngology (ENT) at Oslo University Hospital HF, Rikshospitalet provides highly
specialized clinical services, research, and education in head and neck (oncological) surgery, otology and audiology, as well as rhinological and laryngological disorders.
The department’s clinical activities are primarily focused on regional and national referral functions, while also delivering local hospital services to large parts of Oslo. It holds a national responsibility for cochlear implantation in children, and shares national functions (with several other departments) for the management of upper airway disorders in patients with cystic fibrosis, as well as vascular anomalies of the head and neck.

Kvalifikasjoner:

  • Authorisation to practise as a medical doctor in Norway with specialist certification in Otolaryngology.
  • Broad expertise in laryngology.
  • Extensive experience in endoscopic surgery, including the assessment and treatment of laryngeal cancer.
  • Comprehensive experience in the surgical management of acute and chronic airway disorders.
  • Very good skills in Norwegian language, both written and spoken.
  • Scientific qualifications appropriate for the position of Associate Professor or Adjunct Professor
