Postdoctoral Research Fellow: Tumor-on-chip metastasis model

Offentlig forvaltning

Applications are invited for a 3 year position as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Krauss group at the Hybrid Technology Hub-Centre of Excellence (HTH-CoE), Oslo University Hospital and University of Oslo, Norway. The project is funded by the Norwegian Cancer Society (kreftforeningen.no).

The overall objective of the project is to develop a microfluidic Tumor-metastasis-on-Chip (ToC) platform for melanoma. Specifically, the objective is to develop a combined Tumor-metastasis-on-Chip/Liver-on-Chip system based on a recently developed innovative microfluidic platform (PMID: 36655405). The platform should include central components of the tumor, an endothelial barrier and recipient liver organoids to allow dissecting the effects of pharmacological pathway modulators on tumor metastasis.

The HTH-CoE focuses on developing 3D organoids and Organ-on-Chip (OoC) devises including gastruloids, liver-, islet-, heart- and cancer organoids. The postdoctoral researcher will be part of a larger interdisciplinary team that consists of basic scientists, clinicians, bioinformaticians, physicists and chemists. The Krauss group has a background in developmental pathways, drug development and organoid/OoC development and works actively on innovation and commercialization. Recent publications include PMID: 36655405, PMID: 34878777, PMID: 32332858. The successful candidate will work towards high-impact publications; have an eagerness for career development and willingness to spend some research time in the partnering laboratories.

Oslo University Hospital is a workplace with great diversity. We believe this is absolutely crucial to solving the tasks required of us. We therefore want this diversity to be reflected among the applicants for our positions and encourage everyone to apply regardless of who you are and what background you have.
