Job description

A 3-year full-time position as a post.doctoral researcher is available in the project group Therapy prediction in lung cancer, Translational studies on solid tumours, Dept of Cancer Genetics, Institute for Cancer Research, Oslo University Hospital (The Norwegian Radium Hospital). 

The post.doc. will be part of a multidisciplinary team of researchers running clinical trials and performing translational analyses to decipher the mechanisms behind treatment response and resistance for patients treated with immunotherapy and radiotherapy for thoracic malignancies. The team consists of medical doctors, biologists, engineers and study nurses.

Our group is ambitious and active in clinical and translational research at an international level. Hospitals in several countries include patients in our trials, and we have translational collaboration with international research groups.

We are currently collecting biological material from patients treated with immunotherapy and radiotherapy. The post.doc. will be responsible for analysing immune responses, using samples from the current clinical trial (COM-IT-2) and data from previous trials.

Kvalifikasjoner:

  • You must have completed a Norwegian doctoral degree or corresponding foreign doctoral degree recognized as equivalent to a Norwegian PhD. If you can document that the PhD thesis has been submitted, your application can be assessed even if you have not yet defended your thesis. Documentation of the obtained doctoral degree must be presented before you can take up the position.
  • Documented experience with the relevant laboratory and bioinformatic/statistical tasks listed above
  • High work capacity and productivity are essential
  • Ability to work independently, take individual initiatives, work structured in a team and take responsibility for work processes
  • Proficiency in the English language is a prerequisite.
