The SLS Norway Business Controlling department located in Oslo, is currently hiring Junior Business Controller

Nexans’ submarine power cables are key in the transition to more renewable energy whether connecting islands to the mainland or bringing green energy from the offshore wind farm to the grid. In cooperation with our world-wide customers we push technological boundaries to go deeper, longer, at higher voltages and to provide turn-key solutions for installation and protection to meet future needs.

Responsibilities and tasks

• Contribute to the preparation of financial reports and analysis (both internal reporting & headquarters reporting), hereunder monitoring of the subsea performance (P&L / key indicators)
• Contribute to the monthly closing process of the unit
• Is responsible for the analysis of costs evolution of different cost centers (direct or indirect, manufacturing variances)
• Participate to the analysis of the P&L, and other key indicators: Headcount, operating working capital, return on capital employed, CAPEX, and operating free cash-flow, - depending on internal and Corporate requirements
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations on selected accounts
• Participate to monthly update of forecasts and year-end outlook
• Support preparation of the annual budget, and strategic planning or any specific studies.
• Is responsible for being key user in SAP BI
• Other work tasks such as improvement of existing tools and procedures, and participation to specific work groups, depending on needs

The position reports to Manager Business Controlling – SLS Norway.

What we are looking for

• University degree McS or MBA or similar
• 1-3 years relevant work experience
• Good understanding of main accounting concepts, preferably from a multi-national company
• Experience with financial reporting; budgeting, KPIs, financial modelling
• Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP)
• Intermediate to advanced user of excel, power point
• Analytical mindset
• Autonomous, self-starter
• Ability to multitask, and to deliver on time
• Sense of responsibility
• Fluent in English
