Immunotherapy has become a cornerstone in cancer therapy that includes a broad array of strategies aiming to unleash, direct and boost the patients’ own immune- system through adoptive transfer of expanded naturally circulating or genetically engineered cytotoxic lymphocytes. Despite the recent clinical breakthroughs, the need for new therapies targeting resistant cases and other diseases, in particular solid tumors, remains high. To facilitate development of new therapies, Oslo University Hospital (OUH) has established a Center for Advanced Cell Therapy (ACT center) within Section of Cell Therapy in cooperation  with a private donor consortium.

At the Center for Advanced Cell Therapy (ACT) there is a vacancy for a permanent position as Engineer. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong interest in scientific research, development of preclinical and clinical protocols, and excellent teamwork skills. The successful candidate will take part in multiple projects involving genetic modification of somatic cells, both with viral and non-viral methods. A merit would be previous work experience with RNA and transfection techniques in GMP settings.

Kvalifikasjoner:

  • Applicants must as a minimum hold a B.Sc degree in medical technology, biological science,  bioengineering, or related technical field. Extensive
    experience with cell culturing, flow cytometry, molecular biology, and genetic engineering is highly desirable.
  • Experience with GMP and regulatory work will be an large advantage
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English and Norwegian
