Øya Spiseri in Porsgrunn is hiring a skilled chef for a full-time summer position from May 15 to August 16. You will work in a structured kitchen with high pace throughout the season. Accommodation is included.

 

Introduction

Øya Spiseri serves Italian-inspired food in a relaxed setting with views of the Porsgrunn river. We are now looking for a skilled chef for the summer season.

Porsgrunn is located about 1.5 hours from Oslo and close to Torp Airport. The city is lively in summer, with activity along the river and a busy town center.


About the role

You will be part of a kitchen team of five chefs working closely together throughout the day. We serve both lunch and dinner, and the workday is a mix of prep, service and reset.


A typical day includes:

  • Preparation and production before service
  • Lunch and dinner service with steady flow
  • Collaboration across stations
  • Responsibility for your own section


Summer is high season. We serve up to 250 guests on busy days. This requires structure, consistency and the ability to keep pace throughout service.


Who we are looking for

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is a trained chef with restaurant experience
  • Works independently and keeps pace during service
  • Has solid technical skills and understanding of ingredients
  • Works well in a team
  • Is reliable and prepared for each shift


Experience from seasonal or high-volume operations is an advantage.
