EXPO Consultant Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology

We have a permanent full-time position available as a Consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
We are looking for a skilled gynaecologist who is interested in providing excellent patient care in maternity services and women's health. We currently have a 1 in 4 rota, with non-resident on calls after 4:00 PM.
The hospital in Flekkefjord is part of Sørlandet Sykehus Helseforetak (Southern Hospital Healthcare Trust). We work closely with the hospital in Kristiansand, with which we share management, expertise, patient care, guidelines, Morbidity & Mortality meetings and professional development. The Obstetrics and Gynaecology departments in Flekkefjord and Kristiansand have joint morning meetings and teaching.
We provide obstetric care to approximately 350 women annually and offer maternity services for low risk pregnancy and births in accordance with the selection criteria for Sørlandet Hospital. The department runs a maternity outpatient clinic where NIPT, early ultrasound, and routine pregnancy ultrasounds are offered. The outpatient clinic is run by doctors, midwives and ultrasound midwives.
The department has a neonatal resuscitation room with a video communication system which allows the on-call neonatologist at Sørlandet Hospital Kristiansand to guide care and interventions. The anaesthetist is responsible for neonatal resuscitation and care together with the neonatologist in Kristiansand. Neonates needing ongoing paediatric assessment and treatment are transferred to other hospitals.
As a consultant, you will have significant professional responsibility as well as excellent opportunities to develop within your field. We provide both elective and emergency care. The department runs outpatient clinics and has two to three operating days per week available for elective surgery cases. Surgery cases are day surgery-, inpatient- and emergency cases.
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology department is the perfect workplace for a versatile gynaecologist who wishes to work at a local hospital in rural surroundings.

Kvalifikasjoner:
- Valid Norwegian medical licence.
- Norwegian authorisation as a specialist in obstetrics and gynaecology. Experience in general gynaecology and obstetrics.
- You must have good written documentation skills and be computer literate.
