Höegh Evi is seeking an Accounts Payable Controller to join our Group Accounting and Controlling team in Oslo. This is a part-time (approximately 50%) position ideally suited to a Bachelor or Master student looking to gain practical experience within accounting, finance, internal controls and payment processes while studying.
As an Accounts Payable Controller, you will support the secure and accurate execution of outgoing payments across the Höegh Evi Group. The role plays an important part in maintaining strong financial controls by ensuring that payments are properly authorised, supplier information is accurately verified, and key control activities are performed to safeguard the business
In this role, you will:
• Review and approve outgoing payments in corporate banking systems
• Perform and document key financial controls related to payment execution
• Verify supplier and business partner payment information and registration details
• Support analysis and continuous improvement of procure-to-pay (P2P) processes
• Collaborate with colleagues across accounting, procurement, treasury and finance functions
Qualifications
• Currently pursuing, or planning to start next semester, a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
• Basic understanding of accounting and finance principles
• Strong computer skills and confidence working with digital systems
• Fluency and proficiency in both written and spoken English
• Previous work experience is beneficial but not required
This role does not have people management responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
• Approve and execute outgoing payments in accordance with company procedures and internal controls
• Ensure payments are authorised in line with Höegh Evi's Delegation of Authority requirements
• Perform and document key accounting and financial reporting controls
• Support the processing of payroll through review and approval
• Verify changes to supplier bank account details and business partner information
• Conduct retrospective controls where required to ensure compliance with established processes
• Support continuous improvement of accounts payable and payment control processes
• Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including accounting teams, procurement, treasury, vendors, and banks
