For our expanding Kongsberg Discovery team in The Netherlands, we are looking for a Workshop Technician.

As a Workshop Technician, you are part of a growing Rental & Repair team based in Spijkenisse, The Netherlands and will provide effective in-house technical support for the full range of Kongsberg Discovery (KD) products operated by the Rental and Repair team towards our customers. The technician must have a good understanding of electrical system principles.

Working as a Workshop Technician, you will carry out maintenance, test, and preparation activities of KD products (e.g. Multibeam, Subsea equipment, MRU’s, etc…) in our workshop at the office, including administrative and reporting tasks. If you have technical qualifications in any relevant systems, or you have gathered equivalent work experience, then you have the competence we are looking for.

Kongsberg Maritime Netherlands BV is a subsidiary of Kongsberg Maritime AS with an office with around 80 employees based in Spijkenisse. We work in Sales, Aftermarket Sales and Customer Support and cover the Kongsberg Maritime, and Kongsberg Discovery product range.

Key accountabilities

• Perform in-house test/inspection and repair of rental or customer equipment returned for evaluation or service
• Maintain rental equipment in good working condition
• Check scope of delivery / returns before and after rental according to checklist, check physical status
• Monitor the status of customer repair jobs and ensure all data is entered correctly and kept up to date on service database(s)
• Maintain and organize a clean workshop, outside container storage facility, and tools & equipment
• Support the Rental & Repair team with processing activities
• Documentation and reporting

Qualifications and experience

• Education and/or degree in electrical systems. Relevant experience may compensate for lack of education
• Interested in high-end technical products and the maritime industry
• General good knowledge of computer & network systems / data communication
• Natural ability to handle administrative and reporting tasks
• Proficient written and oral skills in Dutch and English
