Vice President Sales Tug

An exciting opportunity has arisen in Kongsberg Maritime AS (KM) as Vice President Sales Tug. We are experiencing high activity in the maritime tug business with increased contracting rate for this vessel segment. We have ambitions for further growth and want to position KM to continue to be one of the marked leaders in this segment and be in forefront on the new technology trends with focus on operational benefit.
As Vice President Sales Tug you will cover the global tug marked. Tug is an important segment for us across all our products within Propulsion (Thrusters), Deck Machinery (Winches) and Integrated solution products (such as switchboards, automation system among others.) The position will be part of the Kongsberg Maritime Global sales marketing (GSM) propulsion team, and report to SVP Sales & Marketing Propulsion & Engines.
You will work with international sales and corporate closely with our internal global sales network. We believe the right candidate understand sales processes, experienced with interaction with various levels of management and engineers. You have good communication skills and understanding of culture differences. To succeed in this role, it is important that you understand the operations of the tug segment and can influence the main decisions makers such as designers, operators, owners and shipyards.
Key accountabilities
- Lead sales team for KM in the tug segment.
- Manage and close deals with high commercial awareness
- Be a dedicated and motivated leader for the sales and product team.
- Position KM`s position to key customers such as operators, yards and designers for our offerings with focus on system sales and integration benefits of KM products.
- Build and implement a Tug sales strategy in order to set the future direction for increased market share in the tug segment for KM:.
- Be our voice in order to develop products and solution for future offerings.
Qualifications and experience
- Relevant Bachelor or Master's Degree
- Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
- Experience from the Maritime Industry
- Good knowledge in sales of maritime systems and products
- Preferably offshore or shipping background
