Join us as Vice President, Merchant and be a member of our Handling leadership team! You will join our Propulsion & Handling division in Kongsberg Maritime. In this role you will continue our success and grow our deck-machinery footprint into the high-volume segments for the world largest maritime markets.  

In this role, you will contribute to formulating the business strategy and ensure its execution for your product segment. You will be accountable for profit and loss through strategic leadership of product management, engineering, and delivery, which includes project management, procurement, and supply chain. You need to work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a growing, diversified and profitable portfolio. You will interact and cooperate across Kongsberg Maritimes to build your competence, business understanding and network.

Key accountabilities

• Contribute to the business unit strategy and ensure its execution
• Profit and loss accountability for the segment
• With a lifecycle perspective, ensure a profitable and diverse product portfolio 
• Ensure capability and capacity to deliver according to expectations, including a reliable and sustainable supply chain 
• Manage and secure the orderbook delivery schedule, quality, revenue, margins and risks, including their financial impact 
• Actively represent the product line and manage our stakeholders 
• Through empowerment, ensure ownership, curiosity and can-do attitude at all levels 
• Through transformational leadership create a diverse and proactive environment, across the functions, with a focus on developing teams and individuals 

Qualifications and experience 

• Experience from the maritime or naval industry in a leadership position within project management, customer facing or engineering/operations role. 
• Solid team management experience and demonstrated capability to drive efficient resource utilization and leadership of people, across different functions. 
• Financial and commercial experience, such as budgeting and customer negotiations. 
• Good communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
