An exciting opportunity has arisen as Technical Product Manager.  In this role you will be a part of the Thrusters Product Organization. You will be delivering enhanced value to the business through new product innovations. You will be responsible for the Rim Drive tunnel and azimuth thrusters as a whole and ensure the products are suitable for global markets and supply chain.

Technical Product Manager is a key role in developing and managing the Kongsberg Rim Drive Thrusters to become the world leading Thruster solution to future-looking and high-end vessel concepts. This role works in close co-operation globally with sales, customers and supply chain. The role provides an inside view to the global shipbuilding industry as well as the world class propulsion equipment’s of Kongsberg Maritime. In this role you will be responsible for introduction of new products into maritime markets with focus on environmental and sustainable solutions.

 

We are looking for you with an engineering background, you have the ability to see the overall picture and communicate it effectively to internal and external stakeholders. If you also have experience or aspire to lead teams, you might be the candidate we are looking for.

Key accountabilities

• Product management of Rim Drive Azimuth (RD-AZ) and Tunnel Thrusters (RD-TT)
• Responsible for safety and integrity of the products
• Responsible for cost management to ensure the product costs are competitive
• Technical lead in New Product Introduction (NPI/R&D) programmes
• Communicate and advice customers regarding the products
• Team leader for up to approx. 6 persons (no personnel responsibility)

 

Qualifications and experience

• M.Sc or B.Sc in engineering
• Experience with project management and/or product management
• Experience with propulsion equipment and systems is advantage
• Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken
