Technical Product Manager - Electric Motor Solutions

An exciting opportunity has arisen as Technical Product Manager. In this role you will be a part of the Thrusters Product Organization. You will be delivering enhanced value to the business through new product innovations and existing product. You will be responsible for the Electric Motor portfolio delivered in our highly efficient semi-electric Thrusters. The motor portfolio consists of Permanent Magnet, Induction and Reluctance motors used in Azimuth and Tunnel Thrusters.
You will be responsible for developing Electric Motor Product Roadmaps both technical and product family wise with a strong integration to the Thruster Product Roadmap.

Technical Product Manager is a key role in developing and managing the Kongsberg Thruster System, as part of our world leading Thruster Products. This position will require both a technical and business mindset. Your tasks will vary from managing products and related documentation, technical sales support, follow-up and oversight of development efforts. You will also act as a product subject matter expert; bridging between sales, engineering, customers and suppliers. You will contribute through the whole prosses from requirement capturing till end of life of products, and make sure our end products are according to customer needs and our strategy.

We are looking for you with an electrical engineering background, you have the ability to see the overall picture and communicate it effectively to internal and external stakeholders. To succeed in this position, we believe you need to take initiative, have experience leading technical teams, be cooperative, responsible, structured, and quality minded. The position requires some travel, e.g., to suppliers, customer visits, within company sites and exhibitions. 

What you will be doing

• Product Management of electric motor portfolio within Thruster System
• Technical lead in R&D and New Product Introduction programs.
• Responsible for safety, quality and integrity of the product.
• Responsible for cost management to ensure the product costs are competitive

We think you should have

• M.Sc or B.Sc within Electrical Engineering/ Electrical Machines.
• Experience with project & product management.
• Demonstrates a strong ability to collaborate effectively across departments and disciplines, fostering alignment, knowledge sharing, and cohesive project execution
• Experience with propulsion equipment & system integration is advantage
