Overview of Position

• Perform configuration tasks, such as PMS (Power Management System), TC (Thruster Control System), ballast/bilge, common, machinery systems etc., safety and process applications.
• Production of project documentation, i.e. design documents and procedures.
• Act as Site lead, when allocated/nominated by Manager.
• Prepare for and participate in IAT (Internal Acceptance Test) and FAT (Factory Acceptance Test), as allocated by Manager.
• Participate in installation and commissioning including CAT (Customer Acceptance Test), as allocated by Manager.
• Technical contact point with other delivery groups in projects, when allocated as SW / System Responsible within the project.
• Handles both local and overseas projects.

Responsibilities 

• To be a mentor and serve as a role model for the other engineers in the department.
• Contribute to continuous improvement for the department work procedures, based on experience from own work.
• Responsible for the full picture engineering, or engineering of one or more subsystems, in integrated project deliveries.
• Technical responsibility for project execution, as allocated by PM or Manager.
• Participate in meetings, internal and external, as requested by PM.
• Production of project documentation, i.e. design documents and procedures.
• Distribute and support activities for other engineers.
• Report eventual problems with products and tools to Lead Engineer.
• Contribute to continuous project improvement and report possibilities to Manager.
• Co-operation and follow up of vendors and sub-contractors.
• Work together with, other project participants at various sites.
• Participate in technical surveys, as allocated by Manager.
• Assist our sales department with technical issues, as requested by Manager.
• Assist and advise PM regarding best solutions and technical planning.
• Liaison between customers and main office on all aspects of pre-commissioning/ commissioning, maintenance and operation of systems.
• Position will cover South-East Asia, Oceania and possibly other part of the world.
• Handling pre and post administrative work.
• Maintain open communication link with various expertise from Head office to continuous find ways to improve, innovate and effectively managed product and projects.
• Undertake all aspects of project works and ad-hoc tasks which will be assigned from time-to-time.

Requirements

• Technical College graduate or higher Technical education. (Relevant experience may compensate for some of the education).
• Experience with Automation, Process or Safety systems and/or knowledge of marine equipment and control systems.
• Minimum 3 -5 years’ experience as Project Engineer with excellent performance.
• Knowledge about most subjects within the various SW systems.
• Experience from Marine Automation/Process Automation.
• Fluent written and spoken.
• Practical, hands-on approach to complex tasks.
• Experience and knowledge of Kongsberg Maritime’s products.
• Positive attitude, cope with challenges and finding solutions.
• Restrained personality, go-ahead spirit and target oriented.
• Be able to focus on the customer’s needs and expectations.
• Cooperative and good communication skills.
• Overall focus on quality.
• Accept travelling, as required by project.
• Pay package will be commensurate with skills and experience.
