An exciting opportunity has arisen as System Architect at Kongsberg Maritime, reporting to Architect department manager in Automation and Control. If you have a passion for System Architecture and aspire to bridge the gap between product organizations, system level decompositions (requirements, functional, logical, physical and behavioural) and disciplines – this role is for you. As part of our architect team, which includes Systems, Software, and Hardware Architects, you will play a key role in defining our future solutions in Kongsberg Maritime.
As System Architect you will be part of the division Automation and Control who is responsible for product and technology development, supply chain operations and project delivery for all Kongsberg's Automation, Bridge Systems and Electro products and solutions. Since the development of the first Dynamic Positioning system in the 1970's, Kongsberg Maritime has always been in the forefront of developing leading Automation and Bridge Systems, and the Integrated Solutions division is responsible for maintaining and further developing that substantial legacy.
Key accountabilities
- A key resource in defining and creating the Architecture for future solutions in Kongsberg Maritime with a focus on integration of products
- Establish a technical vision together with the Systems Engineering team, guiding the architecture for all our solutions. This involves you in keeping up with the current technological trends and innovations
- Responsible for turning new KM products into reality through designing systems and solutions while ensuring that the future needs and requirements of the Stakeholders are met
- Contributing to the development of the Systems Engineering discipline by providing thought leadership to the team around innovative approaches, workflows, and technologies
- Responsible for the Systems Engineering Process fulfillment within the project and product you work with
- Collaborate with teams of architects, developers, product owners and managers, while sharing and exploiting knowledge in cross-functional and globally distributed multi-discipline departments and projects
Qualifications and experience
- You have a Bachelor- or Master degree in engineering combined with the right experience and with an interest in Systems Engineering
- Experience with integration of products
- Experience from different technological domains and have practiced concept development, system architecture, system integration and/or Systems Engineering in product development for several years
- Knowledge of Model Based System Engineering (Like SysML , UML, UAF)
- Good communication skills
This employment may require security clearance by the Norwegian National Security Authority, clearance through Civil Aviation Authority or a background check.
