Aneo is a renewable energy company that is positioned to play an important role in the energy transition in the Nordics. The department of Energy Markets in Aneo aims to efficiently utilize renewable energy sources and demand-side flexibility through smart market interaction. Our activities include all aspects of power market operations, ranging from trading in the financial power markets, forecasting of market prices and resource availability, optimization methods and algorithmic trading strategies as well as business development and commercial responsibilities towards external clients.  

The Energy Markets department in Aneo is a cross-disciplinary team with strong backgrounds in power market theory, trading, optimal control and operations research. The team works closely with the AI group in Aneo to develop new solutions to better manage the company’s assets in fast-paced and complex market settings as well as improving and automating various market and scheduling operations as Aneo’s production portfolio grows larger. We are looking for students that have an interest in power markets and renewable energy production, a good understanding of data analysis, optimization and AI methods, and are comfortable working with Python. 

As a summer intern, you will work on real-world projects in close collaboration with other students as well as fulltime employees. The summer projects usually involve either performing a pre-study of a new problem or improving existing systems. All projects have high relevancy for the company.  You will work on your own project, but there might be other students with similar topics and some joint activities. Each intern will have a mentor from the Energy Markets department with knowledge and experience useful to the project.

Aneo usually has a group of around 10 summer students across different departments. All of you will participate in Aneo’s summer student program, which includes an introduction to the power industry, workshops and social events throughout the summer. 

Kvalifikasjoner:

• Experience with applying optimization and artificial intelligence in a real-world project. 
• Partaking in developing tools and methods that will be directly applied to achieve efficient operations of renewable power production
• Knowledge sharing through close collaboration with the AI department, including workshops related to general programming and AI.
