Student Assistant Group Treasury

Student assistant to Group Treasury at DFDS A/S

Do you want to be a part of a dynamic and passionate team responsible for managing DFDS’ financial risk, funding, and cash management at Group level? Are you looking for a position where you can add to your academic foundation by applying your analytical skillset to real world financial problems in a multinational company? Then you could be the newest addition to our Group Treasury department.

Be part of the movement - and play your part.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your professional competencies in a professional and dynamic environment with a high degree of knowledge sharing and sparring.

Placed in our new headquarter on Marmormolen in Copenhagen you will be a part of an ambitious department consisting of eight people based in both Denmark and in Istanbul.

On a daily basis you will be collaborating closely with many internal colleagues as well as with DFDS’ financial institutions.

As student assistant in Group Treasury your key responsibilities will be:

  • Producing reports and analyses to Senior Management on liquidity, debt, financial risks, and hedging of these
  • Treasury reporting – including commodities, interest rates, and foreign exchange
  • Reporting compliance towards our financial counterparties
  • Development and maintenance of reports and financial models in Excel
  • Participate in various Treasury related tasks and projects, i.e., hedging of financial risks, optimisation of cash management setup, intercompany loans, etc.

In addition to the above you will also be supporting ad-hoc tasks across the department as needs arise and as you develop in the role. The position is planned for 15-20 hours/week and will be flexible around exam schedules.

About you

You are ideally at the end of your bachelor or start of your master’s degree within e.g.  Economics, Finance or Business Administration, and have a natural interest in Finance and Economics.

As a person, you are ambitious, curious, and collaborative by nature with a positive attitude towards challenges. In addition, you enjoy challenging status quo, and you love to work in a team and having fun while doing it. Ideally you also have the following qualifications:

  • Work independently, systematically, and take ownership of your tasks
  • Ability to handle different priorities at the same time, and working with several stakeholders
  • Analytical mindset with flair for IT and good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • An eye for the detail and deliver in high quality
  • Knowledge of financial derivatives is an advantage
  • Fluent in English both in speaking and writing

Join the movement and grow with us.

While you’re with us, we’ll encourage you to challenge yourself to acquire new skills and perspectives. We strive to continuously develop our employees, thus enabling them to take on increased responsibilities. We do this by investing in growing our employees through close sparring and providing developing tasks and a high degree of responsibility.
