An exciting opportunity has arisen as Structural Analysis Engineer at Kongsberg Maritime in Kristinehamn. We are looking for a talented engineer to join our product management team for propellers and shaftline Systems. In this role, you will provide high-quality analyses to support the team and the business in order projects, development projects, and failure investigations.

You will be part of our Product Management Propeller department, which develops and delivers market-leading, world-class propulsion solutions. Our product portfolio consists of propellers and shaftlines for all types of vessels—from aircraft carriers to smaller luxury yachts—spanning both commercial and naval segments. For over 80 years, our high-performance propellers, beginning with the renowned KAMEWA-propeller, have been developed and produced in Kristinehamn.

As a Structural Analysis Engineer, your responsibilities will primarily focus on calculations and structural analysis for propeller shaftline systems. These calculations must meet internal requirements as well as the rules set by Classification Societies and other regulatory bodies. You should be able to document your work through detailed technical reports. You will support ongoing projects and contribute to new product development efforts. You will be involved in the entire product process, from sales to end-of-warranty, and participate in method development, root cause investigations, and the enhancement of engineering tools.

In this role, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including designers, project managers, sales teams, and service departments. You will also interact with suppliers, shipyards, and regulatory bodies. Some travel may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform static and dynamic structural analyses to assess stress, strain, and deformation across various components and systems.
  • Conduct complex shock analyses and evaluate system responses to dynamic impacts or load conditions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to provide critical technical insights that contribute to project success.

Qualifications and Experience                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      

Are you a motivated engineer in the field of mechanical engineering, engineering physics, or a similar area? We are looking for someone who thrives in a global organization and market, where fluency in English, both spoken and written, is essential. Knowledge of additional languages is an advantage.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have a curious and solution-oriented mindset and a passion for discovering innovative solutions to complex problems. Experience in advanced structural analysis and optimization is highly valued, as your analyses will be central to larger project teams. Strong collaboration skills and the ability to clearly communicate technical insights are essential. You should have technical expertise in structural mechanics and be able to work effectively in cross-functional project teams.
