An exciting opportunity has arisen as Senior Software Project Engineer, reporting to Global Customer Support, After Market Projects. In this role, you will be a part of the Offshore & LNG team delivering “Full Picture” solutions to the maritime industry. The role is responsible for software engineering and production for K-Chief 700 automation system.

Global Customer Support division is responsible for all Kongsberg Maritime’s services and support in the aftermarket. The After-Market Projects, Offshore & LNG department delivers “Full Picture” solutions for all types of vessels which includes the entire Kongsberg Maritime production portfolio and 3. Party systems.

Our projects are based on upgrading / replacement of KM and other makers, Integrated Automation & Control Systems on vessels worldwide. Such types of projects are exciting and hectic with many unforeseen technical challenges, which need to be handled during the process. The available time we have in projects are limited and require engineers with determination and ability to solve difficult tasks, in a short time. Our technical solutions have success in the market; the goal is to maintain and strengthen this position in the future. We are, based on this, looking for Senior Software Project Engineer who wants to contribute to good team spirit and have the applicable competence to further strengthen our team.

Key accountabilities

• Engineering and production of project documentation and applications
• Test and verification of applications within an integrated automation system
• Participate in installation and commissioning, worldwide
• Obtain and maintain good collaboration internally, with customers and 3rd party suppliers
• Focus on the customers’ needs and expectations
• The role includes approx. 50- 100 travel days per year

Qualifications and experience

• Higher technical education
• Advantage with experience and knowledge to marine equipment and control systems
• Experience with K-Chief 700 is beneficial
• Fluent in English, both verbal and writing
