Senior Sales Manager - Underwater Mapping

Are you ready to dive into the exciting world of underwater mapping with Kongsberg Discovery? We are looking for a Senior Sales Manager to lead the charge in Europe and Africa. You’ll be a vital part of our International Sales Team specializing in hydroacoustic systems.  The main task will be sales responsibility for following systems: Multi- and Singlebeam Echo Sounders, Sub-Bottom Profilers, Positioning (GNSS) & Motion Reference Unit sensor systems and software solutions for the different systems and applications.

A strong grasp of the various applications where these systems are deployed, deep knowledge of the industry standards relevant to seabed mapping, and a keen understanding of the local customer base will be essential.

Key accountabilities

  • Sales and budget responsibility in a defined sales area for a range of products and systems, including preparation of quotations and manage contract negotiations
  • Create and maintain customer relations
  • Participate in, and lead bid teams to compile technical and commercial responses for tenders
  • Conduct presentations at conferences and trade shows
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Actively plan and lead the execution of product- and system demonstrations

Qualifications and experience

  • Higher technical education, minimum at Bachelor level in a relevant technical discipline or relevant Naval background
  • Preferably a minimum of 3 years’ experience with technical sales for an international company
  • Ability to consistently close deals through efficient preparation, delivery, and negotiation of commercial proposals
  • A good understanding of survey applications and the various uses of multibeam echo sounder systems. Knowledge of USVs and ROVs is a plus.
  • Experience using applications as Microsoft CRM as the primary sales tool
  • Excellent listening and communication skills, fluent in oral and written English.
  • Able and willing to travel internationally (air, sea, land) on a regular basis
