Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Segment Director - Ferries to lead our efforts to provide solutions related to operational optimization, clean operation and lifecycle support to the industry in North America.  The ideal candidate will have a robust network within the North American maritime industry, exceptional strategic skills, and the ability to influence key stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic initiatives to enhance Kongsberg Maritime's position in the passenger ferry market across North America.
  • Craft and execute comprehensive marketing and branding strategies that highlight our unique capabilities in energy solutions, operational optimization, hybrid and electric propulsion, deck machinery, and automation and controls.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify opportunities for differentiation and growth.
  • Represent Kongsberg Maritime at key industry conferences, exhibitions, and events to build and maintain strong industry relationships.
  • Participate in industry associations, committees, and working groups to influence industry standards and promote our technological advancements.
  • Network with industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to enhance our visibility and thought leadership.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve annual order intake targets.
  • Collaborate across departments to identify and pursue new business opportunities and key accounts.
  • Prepare and present tailored solutions to shipowners, yards, and designers, highlighting the benefits of Kongsberg Maritime’s products and solutions.
  • Lead contract negotiations, manage technical scopes, and prepare quotations as needed.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in the maritime industry, with a focus on electrical and energy solutions.
  • Proven track record of successful sales and marketing strategies in the maritime sector.
  • Strong network within the maritime industry, particularly in the passenger ferry segment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex technical information and translate it into compelling value propositions.
  • Understanding of system delivery and commissioning at shipyards is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of passenger vessel funding, grant frameworks, and key industry trends in the US is preferred.
