"Sensors and Robotics” is one of the divisions in Kongsberg Maritime. The division comprises the businesses of Underwater Acoustics, Marine Robotics, Vessel Robotics and Fishery in Horten, Sensing Solutions and Kongsberg Seatex in Trondheim. The division will focus on further developing market and product oriented businesses and operations based on a strong technology platform

Sensors and Robotics delivers instrumentation, advanced sensors, communication solutions, unmanned underwater and surface vehicles to international markets on- and offshore, merchant marine, subsea, navy, coastal marine and aquaculture.

The R&D department located in Grilstad, Trondheim, develops high end sensor systems for a demanding environment. We have an experienced team within hardware and software development, engineering, analysis and mechanical construction. In this position you will develop state of the art electronics for radar systems, microcontroller and FPGA systems, power supplies and more.

Main tasks and responsibilities

You will become part of a dedicated team of R&D engineers developing and maintaining world-class sensor products for a broad range of maritime applications. Your main tasks and responsibilities will be to participate in the design and implementation of various hardware modules for use in these applications, including for use in hazardous (Ex) zones. Your work will include specification, hardware architecture, detailed design including schematic drawing, PCB layout, testing and industrialization of these modules.

 

Mandatory Requirements

• Master or Bachelor degree in electronics, cybernetics or similar
• Excellent skills in and a passion for analogue and embedded circuit design
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in design, implementation and testing of electronic hardware modules
• Knowledge of or interest in designing electronics for Ex equipment, particularly Ex i
• Knowledge of or interest in design, implementation and testing for EMC

 

Desired Requirements

• Experience in circuit design and PCB layout
• Experience in the prototyping of electronic hardware modules
• Knowledge of RF and microwave circuit design
• Knowledge of Ex and EMC certification processes
