DNO Norge AS is looking for an experienced Senior Geomodeller to join our team in Stavanger.

As a Senior Geomodeller, you will be building integrated geomodels based on a geologic understanding of our North Sea assets, both operated and non-operated. You will provide geologically sound static models as input to an integrated dynamic process for decisions on fields and discoveries. The selected candidate will represent DNO in applicable license committees and ensure compliance with DNO standards and best industry practice. A solid geological understanding combined with experience with building static models is key for this position.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build static models for our fields and discoveries
  • Assist in the screening and assessment of business development opportunities as required
  • Administrate and report to North Sea team lead on geological matters related to geology, static models and infill drilling projects

Communication, cooperation and development:

  • Day to day communication and input to North Sea team lead
  • As part of a team, carry out project work, including peer reviews and the mentoring and assessment of the quality of others work
  • Keep abreast of new developments in model building technology and explore possible applications to development opportunities
  • Maintain professional knowledge base, particularly best practice
  • Actively cooperate within the team and across teams, as appropriate to ensure free exchange of information, knowledge and resources in a pro-active manner

HSE management and compliance:

  • Contribute to the HSE performance for operated assets and ensure any other activities conform to DNO’s HSE policy and Norwegian regulations
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in HSE performance

Required experience and qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (or equivalent) in geology or other relevant discipline
  • Experience from the NSC activity and regulatory requirements

Professional experience:

  • 10+ years’ relevant G&G experience working in a technical role with an E&P company, including relevant geomodelling experience for producing fields and developments
  • Experience with seismic interpretation is an advantage, but not a pre-requisite
  • Experience with Petrel
  • Understanding of risk and all factors effecting volumetric and reserves estimation
  • General technical skills and awareness within field development planning, project execution, drilling and production/operation

Personal qualities and skills:

  • Effective communication and collaboration skills with ability to build relationships and to influence others
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline team environment
  • Project management skills
  • Proactive and able to work with little supervision
  • Proactive and solution orientated
  • Fluent in English, written and oral

We can offer a work environment where we have open discussions, support each other, and make high quality decisions with engagement, humour and giving everyone the opportunity to be at their best.

If you are interested in joining our team, please apply as soon as possible within the due date.
