Senior Data Scientist

The Data & Analytics department was established 2½ years ago. Working agile with a strong focus on our customer’s needs. We are now looking for an experienced, visionary, and passionate Senior Data Scientist to join this successful team and help accelerate and steer our work onwards.

The Data & Analytics department consists of 30 people with various roles such as Data Engineers, Cloud Developers and Business Consultants. Our Data Science Chapter currently consists of 6 highly dedicated Data Scientists. Working with these colleagues offers you an excellent opportunity to further enhance your data science toolbox. We work with an explorative and fail-fast mind-set.

Main responsibilities

Your primary tasks will be to turn business problems into end-to-end data science solutions that provide tangible value for DFDS and our customers based on prototyping and product development –

following the minimum viable product mindset. To elaborate, your tasks will be:

• Designing and implementing machine learning algorithms and statistical modelling (regression, forecasting, clustering, optimization, time series etc.).
• Identifying new patterns, performing dimension reduction and anomaly detection
• Identifying high-impact use cases
• Inspiring and develop the technical skills of the team
• Being ambassador of data science projects

Professional profile

We expect you to hold an M.Sc. or Ph.D. within a quantitative area or other relevant academic background with 4+ years of professional experience relevant to the tasks and responsibilities. It is important that you also have experience in data exploration, visualization, and data mining along with:

• Strong experience in building statistical models and pipelines using Python.
• Experience in extracting and modelling data from a varied range of sources, including APIs, SQL, Azure/AWS etc.
• Ideally knowledge in Docker, Jenkins, Kubernetes Git, AWS SageMaker, MlFlow, etc
• English fluency
