Elkem produces a wide range of products that are critical in the global fight against climate change and environmental deterioration. We are also continuously improving our production processes to minimize the negative impact on the environment and reach our long-term goal of net zero emissions by 2050. To strengthen these efforts we are hiring a Senior Corporate Specialist to work closely with our production sites in their efforts to reduce energy consumption and other environmental impacts.

 

Areas of responsibility:
As a Senior Corporate Specialist, your main responsibilities will be helping Elkem's production sites around the world to improve their energy, waste and environmental management with assistance in the following areas:

• Energy management, reporting and energy management certification
• Mapping of potential energy efficiency measures and advice on how to achieve these (solutions, technology, new innovations, etc.)
• Public energy reduction / efficiency grants (contact point, applications and follow-up)
• Support for waste management initiatives and improvement activities
• Environmental reporting (reporting systems, KPIs, follow-up, etc.) and support for risk assessment and deviation follow-up
• Environmental legislation (follow-up and communicate applicable changes)

 

Qualifications required for the position:

• Master's degree in Environmental science/engineering, Energy efficiency/management, or other relevant technical fields
• Relevant working experience may compensate for lack of sufficient formal education
• Experience in:
• developing, implementing, and maintaining administrative systems, programmes, procedures, and tools
• practical hands-on improvement work in an industrial environment, including team work to identify potential, search for technical and administrative solutions, and help in the implementation of these
• Motivating people at all levels of an organisation
• Performing training activities and developing training materials

 

We are looking for a knowledgeable and independent colleague with passion for sustainability and continuous improvement. You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and prefer to work in an organised and detail-oriented manner. You have a coaching approach to leadership and strong interpersonal skills within a multicultural environment.

The work location is preferably Oslo or Kristiansand, but other location with Elkem presence can be considered. Global traveling is required. The position reports to VP EHS & CSR.
