Senior consultant position in radiology combined with a position as Professor II/Associate Professor (20%) in medicine (Radiology)

A permanent full-time position as Senior Consultant is available at Department of Diagnostic Imaging, Akershus University Hospital. The position is affiliated with a part time position as Professor II/Associate Professor (20 % position) in Medicine (Radiology).  It is required that the position holder attends to both positions.

Regarding the full-time clinical position at Akershus University Hospital:
Akershus University Hospital (Ahus) currently provides health services to 560,000people. The Department of Diagnostic Imaging is equipped with up-to-date imaging modalities, including MRI, CT, PET CT, Mammography, Ultrasound and X-ray. The Department has two professors and one associate professor. The Radiology Section is divided into four subspecialty units including: neuro, musculoskeletal, abdominal-pediatrics and thorax. The vascular diagnostics and interventional procedures are organized as a separate section.
The department provides on-call services within general radiology, neuroradiology, vascular diagnostics and interventional procedures including mechanical thrombectomy for acute stroke, and general interventional procedures. The Department is approved for the whole period of the Radiology trainee program.

Qualification requirements:

  • Applicants must hold an MD and be a board-certified radiologist, clinically active and have a wide range of radiology competence.
  • The successful applicant will be an integrated part of the clinical activity at the department and is expected to work as a consultant within one of our subspecialties.
  • It is expected that the applicant has the broad clinical experience necessary to teach medical students in the field of radiology.
  • Personal suitability for the position will be emphasized.

  • Overview of experience in supervising PhD candidates, including names of the candidates, period of supervision, information on institutions and dates for the presentation of the theses, as well as specific information regarding experience as main- or co-supervisor for each candidate
  • Description of qualifications regarding administration, leadership, teaching and foreign language skills
  • Other relevant qualifications
