A Sales Engineer - Automation & Control at Kongsberg is responsible for supporting the APAC aftermarket sales team in generating sales revenue and enhancing customer retention. This involves combining technical expertise with strategic sales efforts to meet customer needs and achieve business objectives. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, sales skills, and customer relationship management, with a focus on the APAC region and aftermarket sales.

Responsibilities

  • Support Aftermarket Sales: Assist the APAC Aftermarket Sales team before, during, and after customer interactions.
  • Proposal and Quotation Preparation: Create upgrade proposals and maintenance planning based on the APAC team's input.
  • Product Coordination: Coordinate actions with A&C product centers for tasks outside the product specialty.
  • Customer Communication: Proactively inform customers about product lifecycle updates, including obsolescence and system improvements.
  • Commercial Proposals: Prepare proposals for upgrades, modifications, and retrofits, following Kongsberg's product lifecycle philosophy for CAT-1 and CAT-2, with potential for CAT-3 and CAT-4.
  • CRM and Customer Insights: Maintain customer data in the CRM system and ensure familiarity with customer fleets to offer relevant products and services proactively.

Qualifications and experience

  • Degree in a Relevant Field: Education at the degree level in a relevant subject, ensuring foundational expertise.
  • Sales and Customer Engagement Experience: Proven experience in sales support and customer-facing roles, enhancing client relationships.
  • Maritime Industry Expertise: Several years of experience in the maritime or related industries, demonstrating deep industry knowledge.
  • Proficiency with KM and Int Sol Products: Hands-on experience with Int Sol products like K-Chief 700 and DP systems, with navigation systems knowledge as a plus.
  • Commercial Proposals for Upgrades: Skilled in preparing commercial proposals for performance enhancements, new functionalities, modifications, and retrofit solutions, particularly for CAT-1 & CAT-2 products.
  • KM Product Lifecycle Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the KM product lifecycle, including obsolescence, system improvements, recommended upgrades, services, and spares.
