Route Director Gothenburg

Do you want to be a valued part of the critical infrastructure that serves communities across Europe and beyond? Are you looking for a position in which you will be an important part in driving the further development of DFDS Ferry division?

DFDS is looking for a Route Director for our Gothenburg – Immingham route.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President North Sea, you’ll have responsibility for driving the growth of the route and developing a long-term commercial strategy for the next years with sustainability as a key deliverable. The route is performing well, but there is an opportunity for future growth as well as increased focus on standardization, digitization and alignment between functions, business units and divisions. You will have a full P&L responsibility of about EUR 125 mil.

In addition, DFDS has an industry leading E.S.G. (Environmental, Social and Governance) agenda and a strong focus on local de-carbonisation initiatives where you will have a big role to play. 

 

About the role

You will have the full P&L responsibility for the Gothenburg – Immingham route with the end-to-end operational performance of the route through robust performance management focusing upon optimization, efficiencies, and customer service levels. The position is placed at the DFDS Seaways office in Gothenburg.   

As a role model for the DFDS values, you will lead and engage people creating development opportunities, grow the talent pipeline, successfully managing change and communication to facilitate a positive developmental culture. You´ll also drive and develop sustainable solutions through our customers value chains, successfully managing change and communication to facilitate a positive collaborative environment. We will also need you to ensure legal and general compliance across all functions with a high level of focus upon safety, sustainability, and high quality.

Strategic objectives for role:

  • Ensure upscaling of the commercial organization to meet strategic objectives
  • Drive a customer focused, commercial oriented mindset, with focus on delivering great solutions for our customers
  • Ensure stable operation including safety improvements
  • Support Ferry divisions ambition to reach the climate goal on emissions
  • Standardize and digitalize processes

Being an energetic and inspiring leader, you will develop strong working relationships, you’ll drive the strategic agenda and also guarantee close collaborations across the entire organisation as well with our customers.
