Roughneck - Taqa - PDR

Vacancies have arisen for the position of Roughneck working a 3/3 rotation from Aberdeen, UK within the TAQA Contract.
The Roughneck operates and maintains all rig floor drill string handling and hoisting equipment and well control systems and equipment as directed by the Driller. Operates and maintains all related tools and other equipment required to run casing, run and retrieve drill string, riser and specialised tools as required. During non-drilling operations, work activities include repair and maintenance of all drilling systems, equipment and work areas as directed by the Driller. During relocation of the drilling unit, assists as directed in positioning the drilling unit on and off location. will demonstrate safe working practices in line with Company policies, procedures, training and legal requirements. Personnel will ensure their own safety at all times and will assist in ensuring the safety of others by participating fully in the Company Safety Management System.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain the rig floor, sub-structure and associated areas in a clean and tidy condition.
• Assists with nippling up/down of the BOP,Diverter and all associated equipment.
• Perform tripping and connection operations making use of all rig floor handling equipment as appropriate
• Work on Stabbing board if required
• Performs maintenance on rig floor and derrick equipment as required
• Carry out shaker duties in accordance with work programme
• Monitor the fluid returns at the shakers and report changes in size, shape and volume of cuttings to the Driller.
• Take fluid weight and viscosity checks logging them and reporting any anomalies to the DrillerMaintain the shaker deck log book accurately and up to date
• Must be able to recognise the signs of increased flow / decreased flow when working at the Shakers and report to Driller immediately.
• Required to participate in well control drills to provide the drilling team members practice of functioning the well control equipment to control abnormal well bore pressures.
• Attends any pre-spud meeting as required
• Assist with the pressure testing operations.
• Keeps track of the location of rig floor blowout equipment and all necessary toolAssist and relieve the Derrickman, as required, inclusive of mixing fluids.
• Drive forklift trucks as required for cargo and chemical handling.
• Stand-in for alternative work discipline as required.
• Complete any other reasonable tasks as delegated by Line Supervisor.
• Carry out a comprehensive hand over of ongoing tasks to back-to-back Floorman.
• Assist in area inspections as required.
• Become competent in their particular discipline.
• Work towards achieving Derrickman competency.
• Coach Roustabouts in Floorman duties to assist them with their competency.
• Attend onshore or offshore meetings and additional training, as required.
• Attend safety meetings, emergency and life saving drills as required.
• Attend and contribute to TBT/TRIC's and ensure full understanding of the planned operation and your responsibilities
• In the event of an incident/accident, ensure all steps are taken to make the area secure for investigation and inform the Senior Odfjell Representative immediately
• Properly use and care for personal protective equipment
• Bring to the immediate notice of their supervisor, any potential hazards to safety, health, plant and equipment, which come to their attention in the course of their work
• Carry out planned safety inspections when required
• Make use of Safety Observation System e.g. BOSS/STOP,
• Take immediate action to contain, eliminate or guard against actual and potential hazards to safety, health, plant and equipment which come to their attention in the course of their work.

Emergency Response:
• Ability to identify condition in drilling related area that could lead to an emergency

• Knows how to execute all emergency assignments in accordance with station bill.

• Roughneck is authorised to report non-conformances.

Qualifications and or Experience:
• The Company primarily promotes experienced Roustabouts to this position, who have completed a Roustabouts competency level. New hires will preferably possess current experience as a Roughneck or Assistant Derrickman

• Must successfully pass pre-placement medical examination and drug screening.
