About the Position
We are seeking a Researcher for a 100% fixed-term position spanning three years within the Section for Transplantation Surgery. The position is funded by South-Eastern Norway Regional Health Authority (Helse Sør-Øst) and is linked to the project: "Increased availability and function for transplanted livers by improved mitochondrial function during machine perfusion (MITOFUNCTION)."
The successful candidate will join an extensive research group dedicated to enhancing the quality and function of donor livers for transplantation. The core of the work involves further developing and operating a recently established experimental rat model for liver machine perfusion, as well as testing novel therapeutic interventions with a focus on mitochondria.
The researcher is also expected to collaborate with a larger team on research activities involving machine perfusion of human livers. As a PhD candidate is also attached to this project, the Postdoctoral Fellow/Researcher will naturally be expected to contribute to supervision and mentoring.

Kvalifikasjoner:
- Mandatory: Extensive knowledge and experience in organ/liver perfusion.
- Preferred: Experience with animal models and FELASA C certification.
- Preferred: Familiarity with standard molecular biology techniques.
- Advantageous: Experience with machine perfusion of human livers
- Advantageous: Experience with mitochondrial function research.
