Kongsberg Maritime (KM) is now looking for a Research and IP Advisor for our Research & Innovation team in the Technology business unit. Technology business unit is part of the Integrated Solutions division and is responsible for executing product and technology development enabling KM competitive edge while also driving the technology platform upgrades and generation shift.

The Research & Innovation team is responsible for External Funding & Partnership, IP Management, Innovation Management and Creative Design in Integrated Solutions and is also supporting the wider KM organisation. To support and advice in these areas, we are seeking a Research and IP Advisor.

 

The position reports to the Director of Research & Innovation.

 

Main tasks and responsibilities

• Support and advice Director R&I and Head of External Funding & Partnerships
  • Administration of research projects portfolio
  • Application for external funding
  • Overview of funding programs
  • Innovation processes and tools / Innovation campaigns
  • Student engagement and summer student projects
  • Maintaining statistics and KPI for research activities and external funding
• Support and advice IP Manager
  • Administration of patent portfolio
  • Patent landscaping and monitoring
  • Applications for new patents
  • Freedom to Operate analysis and novelty search
  • Workshops and IP ideation sessions
  • Maintaining statistics and KPI for IPR

 

Requirements

• Minimum Master of Science (can be compensated by relevant experience within patenting and/or external funding)
• Maritime / Technical Engineering background is preferred but not required
• Good knowledge of IP-management and / or external funding regimes
• A minimum three years relevant experience
• Fluent written and spoken Norwegian and English
• Security Clearance may be required
