Our Team

The Front Office Quant team within Handelsbanken Capital Markets is looking for interns. Our team is responsible for developing valuation, index and simulation models as well as tools for pricing and analysis within all asset classes: Interest Rates, Equities, FX, Credit and Commodities.

We are seated on the trading floor and work in close cooperation with trading desks as well as departments for risk management, risk control and treasury. We furthermore play a central role in the area of investment advice through our expertise in building simulation models.

Your Role

As a Quantitative Analyst/Developer intern, you will work under the guidance of skilled colleagues and in close cooperation with various teams within our trading unit. Your focus will be the development of tools in the area of valuation, pricing and analysis of financial derivatives. The work process will cover the whole development life cycle from analysis and investigation to implementation. You should have a passion for programming, mathematics, financial markets and for learning new skills.

Your Profile

We are looking for a candidate who:

• Studies at a technical university with an educational focus on mathematics and programming.
• Is in the 3^rd – 4^th year of university studies.
• Has achieved above average academic results.
• Has an interest in financial markets.
• Has strong programming skills.
• Has the ability to learn quickly.

As a person you should be self-reliant, driven and have a desire to meet and exceed expectations. Given the close working relationship with other groups within our Capital Markets unit you should be a strong team player, communicator and work in a structured way.

The internship ideally stretches from February to August and to make it as mutually rewarding as possible, we are looking for candidates who are available one day per week (on average) during the spring semester and full time for at least 8 weeks during summer at our office in central Stockholm.
