About the role

As our Project Security Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring security is integrated into our Space for Defence program and projects.

We are looking for a hands-on security professional who enjoys working closely with project teams, engineers, customers, and authorities. You are comfortable taking ownership of security activities from planning through execution and thrive in an environment where you can combine structure, collaboration, and practical problem-solving.

This is a broad role with significant responsibility and impact. You will be the go-to person for project security matters while also contributing to broader security initiatives across the SmallSat organization.

Who are you?

You are proactive, structured, and pragmatic. You know how to turn requirements into actions and are comfortable working independently while collaborating across technical and non-technical disciplines. You enjoy understanding how things work, identifying risks, and finding practical solutions that support both security and project delivery.

Qualifications and experience

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Cyber Security, Information Security, Engineering, or a related field. Relevant experience from defence, security, emergency preparedness, law enforcement, critical infrastructure, or similar security-related environments may compensate for formal education.
  • Experience working with security in complex technical, defence, aerospace, or other regulated environments.
  • Experience conducting security risk assessments and implementing security measures.
  • Good understanding of security requirements, risk management, and compliance in project-based environments.
  • Familiarity with defence security requirements, NATO regulations, classified information handling, or security clearance processes is an advantage.
  • Broad understanding of relevant security disciplines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently, take ownership, and drive activities from planning through execution and follow-up.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, coordinating, and executing security activities.
  • Working closely with project teams to identify, implement, and follow up security requirements.
  • Conduct security risk assessments and ensure mitigation measures are established and executed
    • Develop and maintain security plans, risk registers, and required project documentation.
    • Support projects in the handling of classified information and sensitive assets.
    • Ensure compliance with customer requirements, applicable regulations, and internal security processes.
    • Coordinate security-related activities with customers, authorities, and internal stakeholders.
    • Identify security gaps and work hands-on with project teams to resolve them.
    • Support audits, reviews, and security assessments.
    • Promote practical security awareness and good security practices across the organization.
    • Contribute to other security-related activities and continuous improvement initiatives within SmallSat Systems as needed.

We offer

  • An opportunity to help shape Norway’s space future
  • Exciting and meaningful work in an international space and defence environment
  • Skilled and supportive colleagues in a collaborative and inclusive workplace
  • Competitive salary, pension, and insurance schemes
  • Possibility for flexible working arrangements
  • STARS social club and a dedicated welfare program for young employees
  • Access to fitness facilities, company cabins, and a range of other employee benefits
  • A safe and welcoming workplace in a growing and well-established technology company
