The Institute of Clinical Medicine has a vacant position as professor II/associate professor (20 %) in obstetrics and gynecology. The part-time academic position is combined with a full-time (100 %) senior consultant position in obstetrics and gynecology at Akershus University Hospital, Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology
 
Relating to the main position (senior consultant):
You are welcome to be a part of our research group and to be also a part of the clinical staff at the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Akershus University Hospital.

Forty percent of the senior consultant position is expected to be used for research and teaching. The remaining time will be clinical work, including shift duty also during weekends.  
Applicants should have a PhD and be specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology. Division of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Akershus University Hospital serves a population of approximately 250 000 women, and 5000 births take place at our division yearly.

The applicant should be involved in ongoing research and interested in contributing to the attractive and stimulating academic environment at the Division of Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Our research group includes presently 17 individuals, and they have basic education as medical doctors, midwifes, physiotherapists or epidemiologists. Most of our researchers also work as clinicians.

The aims of our research group are to: 

  • Create new knowledge within the field of obstetrics and gynaecology, original and of high quality
  • Educate health personnel to be researchers and teachers, competent to create clinical guidelines
  • Contribute to clinical guidelines in obstetrics and gynecology

Interpersonal skills and the ability to create an attractive research environment, plans for research and ambitions relating to the applicant's personal teaching practice will be emphasized. The successful applicant will participate in teaching of medical students at the University of Oslo. As a main rule, interviews will be held and references collected. Applicants may also be required to give a trial lecture.
