Elkem Silicon Materials is currently looking for a Product Manager to participate in the development of Elkem’s product portfolio for silicon-based anode materials in lithium ion batteries. You will be located in Kristiansand, but other locations may be considered for the right candidate. The work will be in close collaboration with Elkem Carbon battery materials development. You will to a large extent be involved in technical dialogue with customers and personnel at our production facilities. The position requires travelling.

 

Most important areas of responsibility:

• Development of silicon-based anode products for lithium ion batteries
• Manage and develop relationships with customers and partners
• Propose future products depending on the in-depth knowledge of the needs from the battery industry
• Responsible for testing and characterizarion of materials
• Participate in external R&D projects
• Technical customer support
• Keep up to date on the development in battery market and IP landscape

Qualifications required for the position:

• Experience from the battery industry with focus on product development
• Minimum Master of Science in e.g. material science and preferably within battery research
• Good understanding of the battery market
• Commercial understanding and interest 
  
• Fluent written and spoken English
