As Procurement Manager in Elkem Carbon Solutions, you will be responsible for procurement of certain categories raw materials for use at our plants globally. You will be working with both long term strategic suppliers and searching for new products and suppliers to support our product development initiatives. The position will be part of our global organization and is supported by technical personnel from our R&I department.

You will join a global industrial organization with strong focus on sustainable growth and ambitious targets to contribute to the green transition. As our next procurement manager, you will play a key role in ensuring that we have the right raw materials to further improve the carbon footprint of our production processes.

 

Most important areas of responsibility:

• Global responsibility for binders sourcing, current and future products
• Operational coordination
• Prepare sourcing strategy
• Execute sourcing strategy and select suppliers
• Perform integrity due diligence of suppliers
• Negotiate and follow up agreements
• Performance measurement of suppliers and supplier site audits

 

Qualifications:

• Higher education within technical/commercial disciplines, minimum Bachelor level
• Preferably commercial experience from an international environment
• Fluent written and spoken English
• Ability to communicate well, build trust, and co-operate internally and externally
• Analytical skills
• Interested in understanding technical requirements for raw materials for our applications
• Eager to learn and apply different software used in Elkem

 

Work location is primarily Kristiansand, but other Elkem locations could be considered.

The position reports to Purchasing Director in Carbon Solutions division. Travelling is required.
