Position Overview:

Postdoc, "Systems biomedicine of multifocal prostate cancer"

The Department of Molecular Oncology at the Institute for Cancer Research, OUS, invites applications for a temporary three-year postdoctoral fellowship, with a possibility for extension, in the field of Systems Cancer Biomedicine. The successful applicant will join the Genome Biology research group, which focuses on employing genomic technologies to enhance cancer diagnostics and treatments. This group is an interdisciplinary research lab, with members from diverse backgrounds in biology, informatics, and medicine. Projects are conducted in close collaboration with clinical scientists and other research groups. The appointed postdoctoral fellow will engage in research under the project titled “Systems biomedicine of multifocal prostate cancer”, funded by the Norwegian Cancer Society.

Kvalifikasjoner:

Formal requirements: A PhD in the genomics of human solid cancers, encompassing wetlab work with cancer biobanks, genomics methodologies, and computational/bioinformatics analysis and visualisation of large-scale genomics data.

Candidates should possess proven academic experience in cancer research, notably in biology, genomics, and bioinformatics, preferably in studies of prostate cancer. Advanced expertise in handling high-throughput DNA and RNA-sequencing data, along with proficiency in relevant databases and scripting in R or other statistical software and genomics data analysis tools, is required. Experience in training and supervising MSc and/or PhD students is expected.
