About the position
The Department of Research and Development, part of the Division of mental health services at Akershus University Hospital, Norway, has an open a 3-year, 100 % position for a postdoctoral/early career researcher. Primarily work will by related to the study Pathways to good mental health through personalized follow-up of autistic males and females from childhood to adulthood (PATHWAY) funded by Helse Sør-Øst. In this position, you will be the member of the research group focused on the Interplay of somatic, mental, and neurodevelopmental conditions (SOMIND) led by Associate Professor Agnieszka Butwicka. The PATHWAY is a collaborative project with University of Oslo, Karolinska Institute, and University of Innlandet. The multidisciplinary research team has diverse expertise in autism, mental health, epidemiology, biostatistics, and clinical perspectives. The postdoctoral researcher will utilize data from Norwegian registry linkage and the Norwegian mother, father and child cohort study (MoBa), applying advanced computational methods, including machine learning and traditional epidemiological research methods. The post-doctoral researcher will be employed at the Department of Research and Development, in the Division of mental health services at Akershus University hospital. The department currently employs eight full-time researchers, four post-doctoral researchers, and six PhD students. Depending on the post-doctoral researcher’s ambition, there is the opportunities to collaborate and co-author in other projects. Associate Professor Agnieszka Butwicka is leading the SISU consortium of 4 Nordic partners' project aiming to improve the well-being of young people by increasing our understanding of vulnerabilities and resilience in determining post-pandemic outcomes. There is an opportunity for the postdoctoral researcher to collaborate and work with data from the National Registries and the Swedish Twin Register at Karolinska Institutet. Kvalifikasjoner:
- Applicants must hold a doctoral degree (PhD) in psychology, statistics, epidemiology, medicine, or a related field relevant to the research conducted as part of the advertised position. The ideal candidate will have experience in several of these areas.
- Experience in handling large-scale longitudinal data, such as Nordic health registers and cohorts.
- Knowledge and experience with classic and modern statistical methods in mental health research.
- Advanced data management and analytical skills using statistical software (e.g., R or Python, SAS).
- Experience in writing and publishing scientific articles in epidemiology, mental health, or related topics.
- Good communication skills in English, both written and oral.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
