Postdoc position in Radiotherapy and Artifical Intelligence
Offentlig forvaltning
At the Section for Proton Therapy Physics, Department of Meical Physics, at Oslo University Hospital (OUS), we are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoc to conduct research on artificial intelligence in radiotherapy and related disciplines. The postdoc will work within the framework outlined in our project IMAGINE: Image-based artificial intelligence for cancer radiotherapy. The project is a collaboration between OUS and NMBU – Norwegian University of Life Sciences. Of key interest is the use of medical imaging such as computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and positron emission tomography for autodelineation of tumors and organs at risk and for outcome prediction. Applications towards proton therapy are also anticipated. The candidate will be selected based on evaluation of the applicant’s research profile and how the candidate can complement and strengthen the research at the Department of Medical Physics. The application should include a cover letter summarizing the candidate’s career and past research, CV with a full list of publications where the most relevant ones are highlighted.
The Department of Medical Physics is responsible for the technical and physical planning of radiation therapy and for the medical-physical quality assurance of treatments. The department is also responsible for the maintenance and operation of radiation therapy equipment and IT systems related to radiation therapy. The department conducts research and educational activities in medical physics and radiation therapy.
There is continuous development in the field of medical physics. Applications such as automated planning, adaptive radiation therapy, machine learning, and advanced medical imaging are currently being introduced in order to enhance the optimization and personalization of radiation therapy. Artificial intelligence is starting to play an important role in these areas. The development of effective and automated routines for quality assurance of treatment plans and equipment is also an ongoing focus in the department. Proton therapy is currently being established and will commence as a treatment modality in 2025.
Only applications submitted through the web based recruitment system, Webcruiter, will be considered. All relevant transcripts and certificates must be attached together with the application, also motivation letter and references are welcomed.
