Helse Sør-øst RHF

PostDoc/data manager

Offentlig forvaltning

Oslo University Hospital is accredited as Comprehensive Cancer Center (CCC) by the Organization of European Cancer Institutes (OECI). The accreditation is based on the large and complete clinical activity of high quality, in close cooperation with a large clinical and laboratory-based research activity with several internationally leading research groups. A separate cancer board has been established to ensure the quality and coordination of the treatment and research services for cancer patients, across the hospital's clinics and in collaboration with the Cancer Registry, University of Oslo and research institutes.

One position is available for two years (with possibility for extension) at Division of Cancer Medicine, Oslo University Hospital, for a postdoc / data manager.
Regarding the positions at OUS:

Division of Cancer Medicine has for several decades played a central role within the field of cancer research both in Norway as well as internationally. Division of Cancer Medicine includes Dept for Cancer therapy, Dept of Gynaecological Oncology and Dept of Haematology, in addition to two institutes involved in diagnostics and research.

Project information:
OUS-CCC is dedicated to and has an obligation to provide cancer care of high quality. We treat approximately 30 000 cancer patients annually, provide >100 000 radiotherapy fractions and 127 000 out-patient clinic visits. Structured data on the cancer care we provide is essential for quality control and for research and for establishing necessary data in a cancer dashboard. The past years, an effort has been made to develop methods for structuring our data for effective use in quality control and for research purposes, and we have been working internationally in the DIGICORE consortium to be able to transform our data to the OMOP coding. This enables us to follow our own quality and to compare the quality we provide with other hospitals in Europe, having the same standards.
This postdoc / data manager will partly work on the quality assurance and data management, and also have dedicated time for doing research on the hospital data, and in close collaboration with clinical experts and the IT-department. We collaborate with Oslo Centre for Biostatistics and Epidemiology (OCBE) at Research Support Services, OUS. The holder of the position will play an important part in strengthening the collaboration between the different stakeholders locally and internationally.
