Postdoc Position Examining Consequences of Cardiac Morphological Deviations in Atlantic Salmon

A postdoc position dedicated to elucidating the consequences of deviating heart morphology in farmed Atlantic salmon is available from winter 2023/2024 at Oslo University Hospital Ullevål, Norway.

We are looking for highly motivated applicants holding or soon to complete a PhD or equivalent in physiology, comparative biology, veterinary medicine, or related fields.

Job duration: 3 years with possibility for extension. Annual salary between 584.500-667.700NOK (50.960-58.100EUR).

Institute description
Oslo University Hospital (OUS) is the largest hospital in Norway with 24 000 employees. With its broad range of medical disciplines and internationally recognized scientists, OUS is an important contributor to research and education in Norway.

The Institute for Experimental Medical Research (IEMR) employs ≈ 60 people and consists of seven main research groups with backgrounds in various fields of molecular biology, physiology and cardiology. See www.iemr.no for more information about IEMR.

  • We are looking for talented and highly motivated candidates of all nationalities who have experience in fish physiology and/or cardiovascular research.
  • The applicant is expected to hold, or soon to complete a PhD degree (or equivalent) in physiology, comparative biology, veterinary medicine, or related fields.
  • The working language is English, and excellent knowledge of spoken and written English is required.
