PhD position in Protein Engineering and Molecular Immunology

A 3-year full time PhD position is available in the Centre of Excellence called Precision Immunotherapy Alliance (PRIMA) and the Laboratory of Adaptive Immunity and Homeostasis, headed by Jan Terje Andersen, Department of Immunology at Oslo University Hospital (OUS), Rikshospitalet.
The successful candidate will join a highly integrated and motivated team with diverse skills and expertise across molecular biology and immunology. We seek a motivated, creative and energetic candidate that will take active part in the research cooperation focusing on protein design and infections diseases.
The position relates to a project aiming at translating cutting-edge research into biomedical concepts focusing on tailored protein design for cancer treatment in collaboration with the Experimental Immunotherapy Group headed by Johanna Olweus. Research will be done by combining structural and molecular biology with biochemical and cellular assays as well as studies in mice.
The fellowship requires admission to the PhD program at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Oslo. The purpose of the PhD Research Fellowship is research training leading to the successful completion of a PhD degree. The fellow must fulfill the requirements of and take part in the PhD program and is expected to complete the degree within the set fellowship period. The grade requirements do not apply for applicants with a Norwegian cand.med. degree or any other Norwegian higher education degree where only grades pass, or fail are given.
Kvalifikasjoner:
- The candidate must have an MSc degree.
- Background in molecular biology or immunology.
- Proven knowledge in molecular techniques, in vitro biochemical and cellular assays Knowledge in cellular biology and in vivo mouse studies are advantageous.
- Candidates must have strong proficiency in verbal and written English.
- It will be an advantage if the applicant can start as soon as possible.
