Ph.D. fellow – Cancer Immunology

A temporary position as Ph.D. fellow (doktorgradsstipend) in the Cell Signalling and Immune Regulation Group (Group Leader, Prof. Kjetil Taskén), Dept. of Cancer Immunology, Institute for Cancer Research (ICR), Oslo University Hospital – Radiumhospitalet is available for a period of three years.
The main focus of the group is to understand tumor immune evasion mechanisms and how we can interfere to boost anti-tumor immunity. We want to define future precision immune-oncology strategies. We also work with signaling networks, anchoring and localization of signaling complexes, and their drug targeting. Lastly, we work with cancer drug sensitivity screening to explore individual drug responsiveness and resistance patterns in patient cancer cells and for use in precision cancer medicine (PCM) in oncology and hematology. The enthusiastic research team of approx. 15 people is highly international and conducts research in close collaboration with international collaborators.

Kvalifikasjoner:
We seek a structured and sociable person who can work independently and in the team. The successful candidate should have the following qualifications and skills:
- A M.Sc. or M.D. degree (or similar) and expertise in immunology, cancer biology, molecular medicine, or a similar area is a requirement. Grades must be compatible with the University of Oslo, Faculty of Medicine’s requirements for admission to the Ph.D. programme.
- A CAREiN (FELASA-C) licence for animal experimentation is necessary and prior experience with animal work a benefit.
- Competence and experience with T cell immunology, flow cytometry and T cell immune function assays, and or cell therapy strategies would be a benefit.
- Molecular biology and biochemistry experience would be a benefit.
- Candidates with good ability to communicate in English, both orally and writing will be preferred.
- Personal suitability will be considered.
