Operational Logistics Manager

Vianode is seeking a motivated and proactive Operational Logistics Manager to join our global team, supporting our Team Leader Logistics Manager in the day-to-day operations, coordinating shipments, and managing schedules. This role will serve as a key link between various departments and external partners, ensuring the efficient planning and transportation of goods in a timely and cost-effective manner. We are looking for a candidate who can start as soon as possible, with applications reviewed continuously until the right individual is selected.
Vianode is an advanced battery materials company providing sustainable anode graphite solutions for the battery and EV value chains in North America and Europe. Vianode’s breakthrough solution enables tailored high-performance synthetic anode graphite and a holistic sustainability offering including a 90% reduction in CO2 footprint. The company is currently preparing to start its first full-scale plant at Herøya, Norway, before executing its multi-billion dollar phased investment program for large-scale plants in North America and Europe. The long-term ambition is to supply advanced battery materials to 3 million EVs per year by 2030. Vianode is owned by the world-leading industrial and financial companies Hydro and Altor.
In this role, you will provide critical support to the Supply Chain team, reporting directly to the Team Leader Logistics.
Main responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily logistics operations.
- Managing transport planning and execution for both inbound and outbound shipments.
- Ensuring the availability of raw materials and consumables.
- Coordinating with transport providers for timely shipments by sea, air, rail, and road.
- Tracking shipments and resolving any shipping issues.
- Maintaining relationships with logistics suppliers.
- Conducting reporting and data analysis to identify areas for improvement.
- Handling customs paperwork, declarations, and import procedures.
- Developing processes to streamline and improve the efficiency of the supply chain.
Qualifications:
- M.Sc. or bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, operations, business administration, transportation, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proficient in logistics and inventory software, as well as Microsoft Office.
- 5+ years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or transportation operations.
- In-depth knowledge of rail logistics, including freight scheduling, rail operations, and compliance.
- Strong understanding of supply chain, inventory, distribution, and business management principles.
- Familiarity with the process industry and its operational environment.
- Strong interest in learning and understanding Vianode’s product portfolio and production processes.
- Project management experience.
- Experience working in cross-cultural environments.
- Proficiency in English.
