Operation Manager I&E Delivery Brazil

An exciting opportunity has arisen as Operation Manager for Integration & Energy Delivery at Kongsberg Maritime in Brazil. In this role, you will be part of Kongsberg Maritime Brazil and have responsibility for the interface between Kongsberg Maritime delivery department’s project portfolio in Brazil and relevant shipyards, shipowners, and Kongsberg Maritime Brazil organization. You will also have an important part in supporting Kongsberg Maritimes goal of improving processes that are vital for effective Kongsberg Maritime project executions.
Kongsberg Maritime Brazil, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kongsberg Maritime, handles sales, procurement, project deliveries, support, and training services. With around 200 employees, they support the broader product portfolio of Kongsberg Maritime.

In this role you should be enterprising, structured, committed and have collaborative personality, and eager to experience and seize new opportunities.
Key accountabilities
• Act as a link between ship owners and Kongsberg Maritime/Kongsberg Maritime Brazil project organizations
• Participate in meetings with shipyards on issues concerning design, commissioning, quality, sales etc.
• Coordinate tender efforts and tender support to Sales/bid team.
• Support in defining an organization and model for executing and delivering these projects incl. yard support, procurement support, supply chain, logistics, ship design, engineering, testing, and commissioning both locally and from the Nordics.
• Search for and propose local content partners and partnerships.
• Collaborate with all parts of the organization and build a team that will support in above activities.
• Coordination and confirmation of the scope of supply from Ship Design.
• Support and oversee project plan to deliver project in line with time, cost, quality, and specification agreed
• Monitor and control overall project performance to address deviations from plan
• Arrange internal project meetings with Shipyard, KM Locals (if required) and customer
Oversee and support change/variation order process.
• Initiate and manage strategic improvement projects with selected yards to improve efficiency, quality and safety.
• Include and support Kongsberg Maritime Brazil engineers and management in relevant task and provide necessary information.
• Support and improve Kongsberg Maritime projects and departments concerning overall project execution and provide necessary information.
• Address customer feedback promptly, leverage your organizational network, and address issues before they develop and escalate.

Qualifications and experience
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant fields. Technical degree, extensive knowledge or experience may compensate for educational qualifications.
• Very good communicative skills and fluent in English both verbally and written form. Proficient in Portuguese writing but good verbal skills is not required but very advantageous.
• In-depth understanding and knowledge of relevant KM products and/or experience with Kongsberg project execution models
• Global applicants must be commitment to a minimum stay of 2 years in Brazil with possibility to extend.
The position will formally report to the Brazil Country Manager with functional reporting lines to the I&E Integrated Projects team.
