Nexans’ submarine power cables are key in the transition to more renewable energy whether connecting islands to the mainland or bringing green energy from the offshore wind farm to the grid. In cooperation with our world-wide customers we push technological boundaries to go deeper, longer, at higher voltages and to provide turn-key solutions for installation and protection to meet future needs.

About the Department:

The IMR (Inspection Maintenance and Repair) department basis consist of a team of engineer’s specialized in the defined areas of marine and land based cable installations and cable technical specialties. There is also a dedicated sales position to drive the sales and marketing activities of the business area. , Together, the team is responsible for developing Nexans IMR solutions with input to turnkey cable supply tenders and stand-alone IMR projects. Typical clients are transmission and power generating companies world-wide, new and existing Clients and projects. Projects range from interconnectors between countries or continents, to offshore wind power export lines or array cables.

The department's key area of responsibilities are to front Clients requests and establish long and short term solutions for EPCI and IMR projects, participate in contract negotiations, work out and establish routines and prepare organization for compliance and commitments Activate IMR projects by establishing short term repair teams. The department is participating in projects to establish IMR during EPCI stage, and are at the front-line after projects closing.

About the Position:

As the Marine Coordinator you represent the core competency from the Marine Installation Department in the IMR group and be Responsible for the engineering of solutions for IMR Marine Operation. You will participate in developing an IMR business branch within Nexans Installation, and IMR sales and marketing processes. You will be responsible for executing the IMR activities in the start-up phase of a contract. You will also work as the point of contact for clients and the market, participating and contributing to sales related activities.

Your responsibilities and tasks:

  • Responsible for understanding and defining the scope of work for the marine operation from the assignment / agreement
  • Responsible for identifying the need for assistance from different disciplines; i.e. Vessel Operation, Survey and ROV, Protection and Equipment.
  • Responsible for identification of possible approaches and solutions on how the scope of work can be addressed
  • Responsible for documentation of the solutions and present them to the project stakeholders
  • Responsible for the documentation linked to the marine operation scope of the project and for the documents linked to the marine operation scope
  • Responsible for coordinating the Marine operation SOW for the assignments / agreements.
  • Be a part of the first line response team for all assignments associated with faults offshore.
  • Participate in development and maintaining information of potential and current clients.
  • Participate in development and maintaining IMR sales packages in cooperation with SES Sales org
  • Contribute in larger and lead smaller sales processes.
  • Transform clients need into work packages, develop method statements and set pricing.

Qualifications:

  • Masters or Bachelors in relevant engineering field
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant marine industry/installation work, knowledge and experience
  • Fluent in Norwegian and English, written and orally
  • Team player
  • Good communication skills
