Trading & Origination is Statkraft’s central commercial unit for proprietary trading of standard and origination of non-standard energy related products and assumes the role of a market integrator for third party renewable and flexible assets encompassing the supply of power and green solutions to customers in Europe and in the US 

Your role: 

Portfolio management requires a resource to work together with our portfolio trader. The role has two distinct facets, 1) developing code to assist position management, deal pricing and valuation, complex deal management, together with and coordinated by our portfolio quant dev team and 2) taking on trading activities alongside our Senior portfolio trader. Trading activities would include hedging retail fixings, execution on behalf of the portfolio(s), and complex deal management. 

• Developing tools and models in python/C#  

• Working closely with other quants and traders, the candidate will develop tools to analyse and assess the physical and financial exposures embedded in the UK PPA and Retail Portfolios 

• Assist the Senior Portfolio Trader in management of the Portfolio, hedging of the portfolio and optimisation of complex deals where they exist in the portfolio. 

• Work as part of the portfolio management team, providing support to the trading activity, origination activity, and retail activities.  

Your profile: 

• Batchelor / Master’s degree in quantitative discipline - preferably in physics, computer science or mathematics 

• Software development experience 

• Commercial thinking, motivated by P&L 

• Experience in energy trading business an advantage, but not essential 

• Strong development experience in Python 

• Excellent IT skills in general – SQL, C#, MySQL 

• Self-driven with ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines 

• Enthusiasm 

• Excellent communicator, able to explain complex issues
